ELPHO produces 0.5 mm thick SDS-polyacrylamide
gels (SupraPaaGels) or SDS-agarose gels (SupraAgaGels) cast on film (SupraGels
f) or net (SupraGels n). The SupraGels f are used for analytical purposes,
the SupraGels n for blotting.
The SupraGels f are located between two polyester
supports. The upper transparent film is in loose contact to the gel. This
film must be removed before the application template is put on the gel.
The lower transparent support is chemically connected to the gel.
The lower transparent film of the SupraGel n covers
the gel from the side of the net. This film must be removed after the electrophoresis
for blotting purposes.
SupraGels are precast wet gels produced for
horizontal protein electrophoresis. The electrophoresis is run without
buffer tanks, the buffer is soaked into paper wicks and layed onto the
edges of the gel.
With a neutral buffer system in the gel high resolution
and long shelf life (at least 1 year) of the gels is acheived.

We recommend the ELPHO silver staining kit which
can be used for agarose and polyacrylamide gels as well.
